A BILL to amend article six, chapter five of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated section four-a, relating to mandating the state building commission to build a parking garage in the capitol complex.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That article six, chapter five of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, be amended by adding thereto a new section, designated section four-a, to read as follows:
ARTICLE 6. STATE BUILDING COMMISSION.
§5-6-4a. Capitol complex parking garage.

The commission shall construct a capitol complex parking building on state-owned land situate in the state capitol complex in the city of Charleston. The parking building shall provide a sufficient amount of parking and shall be constructed so as not to harm the aesthetic beauty of the state capitol building. The parking building shall be financed by state building revenue bonds as provided in section five of this article or any other state or federal funds, or both, that may be available to be used.



NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to require that the State Building Commission construct a parking garage in the state capitol complex. Construction would be financed through state building revenue bonds, or any other state or federal funds that may be available.
